DES MOINES - Harold A. Schaitberger, general president of the International Association of Fire Fighters, issued this statement after Chris Dodd announced he was ending his campaign for the presidency of the United States following the Iowa caucuses:

January 3, 2008 - The following are the remarks of Senator Chris Dodd, delivered from the Temple for the Performing Arts in downtown Des Moines:
"Our campaign has been about results. And even though we didn't get the result we all were hoping for, this experience has been one of the most rewarding in my life of public service.
"I always knew this endeavor would be an uphill battle against very tough odds."
